Do you have a favorite Valentine's Day tradition?
Way back when I was a bit more misanthropic than now, I used to wear all black on Valentine's day, as a way to mourn how commercialized the holiday had become - it seemed even more hyped than Christmas! I'm not quite that extreme, but I will say that Valentine's day is just not my favorite holiday. It's all pink and frilly and ................!
The way I figure it, why spend a fortune on flowers and candy one day of the year? Do something nice for your loved ones every day! In my case, the "doing something nice" part involves not trading the whole lot of them in for a bowl of goldfish and running off to join the circus.
So Craig, if you're reading this, please, no flowers this week. Or next, for that matter. Just buy me a pool boy and be done with it, mmmmmmmmmmkay?
I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

You know I never thought of trading them all for goldfish!
I slip a love note into Tim's lunch box every year but not always on Valentine's Day just near it, sort of. I was surprised a couple of years ago to learn that he has every one of them in his brief case in his secret pocket. I didn't think he was "sentimental" but apparently I was wrong. He's much more likely to randomly surprise me with some thing I admired completely out of the blue so the fact that he doesn't usually do anything on designated holidays doesn't really matter.
The boys think they should get Valentine's Day stuff so I make them cards and give them chocolate. I know I know we're weird!

I've bought Brandon carnations once, when he was 3? Maybe 4? He thought he was THE SHIT.
